CAREGIVING
The basic definition of caregiver, taken from the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is a person who provides direct care (as for children, elderly people, or the chronically ill). In many instances, family members or close friends will serve as caregivers for their loved ones. However, this can create tension in families and cause high levels of personal stress if the right support and resources are not within reach. What are the care-giving resources in your area? What support groups would you have within reach if circumstances led to you having to take on caregiving responsibilities?
